The name is “Bitcoin Core – BTC Wallet“ and is available in the Google Play Store. Apparently, the developer attempts to misguide the users: there is a popular desktop wallet called “Bitcoin Core” which however has nothing to do with the mobile app. More than 1’000 users have already downloaded the app.
The compromised app always shows the same address of the scammer for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum. Thus, all received cryptocurrencies are sent to the scammer instead of the wallet user.
Recommendations:
⦁ Do not use this app under any circumstance.
⦁ Only install apps that either have many positive reviews or where you know the source to be trustworthy.
